Aioi NZ ensure employee engagement with Jemini
Aioi NZ recognised the need to move away from their reliance on a dated paper-based performance programme and embrace a more modern approach to HR. To support this, they chose Jemini as their people management and payroll solution in late 2019, and recruited Delisha Bhagavan, an experienced HR and training consultant, in early 2020.
“To help your employees succeed it’s really important to create a great environment and provide positive experiences, says Bhagavan. “They need a workplace they can thrive in. Performance programmes, training, and mentoring all play a key role in creating a workplace environment where people can thrive. As does having a great payroll system.”
“Their consultant took me through the functions, how they work and how they could be configured to support or improve our existing processes. This gave me a clear understanding of the options we had to create the best possible employee experience.”

Jemini Performance
The business decided to go live with Jemini Performance first, rolling it out in manageable stages over 2020. “From a holistic point of view,” explains Bhagavan, “implementing Jemini Performance was a significant programme of work for us. We didn’t want to overwhelm everyone with new technology and processes, so we staggered the release timeline.”
To ensure the solution reflected Aioi NZ’s business and people needs, Bhagavan worked closely with Jemini’s Discovery and Advisory (DnA) consultancy service to relaunch the performance programme.
“Jemini’s DnA approach was really valuable,” she says. “Their consultant took me through the functions, how they work and how they could be configured to support or improve our existing processes. This gave me a clear understanding of the options we had to create the best possible employee experience.”
Jemini stacks up
Over the years, Bhagavan has used a range of recruitment, HR, and payroll software solutions. She says that Jemini is a breath of fresh air.
“For starters, it’s very aesthetically pleasing. Our people find the Jemini platform simple to access and use, and they love how it looks and performs.”
With the addition of Jemini Payroll in 2021, Bhagavan is already anticipating the joys of a fully integrated solution.
“While I’ve worked with some good systems, they’ve tended to be exclusively HR or payroll, with only a small overlap. So you have to transfer information from one to the other. The rollout of Jemini Payroll in 2021 gives us payroll and HR on one platform, sharing a single source of truth. And it also overcomes the issue of logging into multiple platforms.”

Going paperless
Bhagavan takes delight in the company’s successful move away from using paper.
“Our reviews used to be done on paper forms, which would be distributed to managers and team leaders. Reviewing an individual’s performance year-on-year was a manual process, and tracking the previous year’s documents down could be challenging!
“Through the DnA process, we’ve completely re-engineered our performance programme and eliminated paper-based systems. Using Jemini, all reviews are digitally held in a central repository and are always on hand.”
Simple, social, and proactive
“From a set up perspective,” says Bhagavan, “using Jemini is like navigating a form of social media. Once I learned their terminology, I found it easy to find and click through to make changes. It’s really simple but efficient. It does what you need it to do, without having to customise every little thing. It’s not overwhelming.”
“Any organisation growing, or looking to grow, should really look at investing in something like Jemini,” suggests Bhagavan. “It not only creates employee engagement, but it also provides an engaging environment. Our people have access to information that they feel is personally relevant and important. Jemini also enables easy sharing of information between employees, management, and HR.
“With Jemini you have a sense of openness and transparency. And a feeling of belonging that I think would be beneficial to any company, of any size.”
The Jemini Journey
“It’s been a journey to introduce the HR function into the business,” says Bhagavan, “but at the same time it’s been exciting to have Jemini back some of the initiatives that we’re introducing, and provide a platform that our people can truly engage with.”
“The great thing about the Jemini solution is that you can easily configure it to your needs. Jemini is very much a living system and you can adjust and change it as you grow.
“Throughout the project, the Jemini team provided excellent guidance, advice, and hands-on training. They’re also really open to feedback and new ideas, and they’re proactive about making improvements. Jemini is cool to use and I’m very excited to see where it goes.”
